Original Request:
Please read the entry linked in this report, it's only a comment about
another's blog entry that's not even copied in its entirety and it's
properly credited. That's part of what blogging is about, isn't it?

Dear LiveJournal user fujurpreux,

Thank you for following up with the Abuse Prevention Team. The Abuse Prevention Team is required by law to act on every report we receive that is properly formatted under the criteria set forth by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. We are not able to judge the veracity of these reports.

If you believe that you are entitled to use the quoted material under the provisions set forth by United States law, you may feel free to file a counter-notification. The Abuse Prevention Team is not qualified to give advice on legal matters such as this; you may wish to contact a lawyer before pursuing any further action.

Regards,
Zoe

Meh. I don't even live in the States.

Do I have to delete the entry completely or is it enough with editing the
content?

Dear LiveJournal user fujurpreux,

Unfortunately, we must require you to delete the entry in its entirety. Once material is reported to us as a violation of a copyright, LiveJournal is responsible for ensuring that the URL that is reported never hosts the copyrighted material again.

We do not have the ability to monitor an entry to make sure that a user does not edit copyrighted material back in after compliance. Therefore, our only course of action is to require the full deletion of all entries against which we receive a valid copyright complaint. I apologize for this inconvenience.

Regards,
Zoe

Ok. But what's going to happen now with my status in the site?

Dear LiveJournal user fujurpreux,

LiveJournal is required by United States law to deny service to repeat copyright offenders. However, this is reserved for users who have a chronic history of violating the copyright of other users.

As this is your first offense, once you have deleted the entry we will consider the matter closed.

Zoe

Very well. The entry is deleted now even if I don't agree with all of this.
I know it isn't your fault the author of the original commented blog entry
was butthurt and felt like spending money in stupidities.
